Please bear with us as we develop our site after being hacked.

We are Phil and Dianne Reid, we live in Steventon, Oxfordshire with our small kennel of hounds. We got our first PBGV in 2003 having admired them for a number of years and were blown away by the fabulous character and excellent temperaments of these little hounds. Our dogs are first and foremost family pets although we do show our dogs in the UK and overseas. We do hope that you enjoy our website and if you would like further information then please do feel free to get in touch.

About Us

Prior to our lives being taken over by Madison, our first PBGV Dianne was involved in showing and breeding Miniature Long Haired Dachshunds through her parents Maudaxi kennel name. After finishing University and starting work we decided that once we’d found the right home with a secure garden that we would get our first dog and after spending a lot of time looking into various breeds of dog, in January 2003 Madison  (Afterglow Lydia Dustbin At Maudaxi) arrived, a very cute, adorable and sweet natured PBGV; we were hooked.

After a while we decided to get some company for Madison and we then got our first GBGV, Cassie (Ir Ch Tarmachan Sic Itur Ad Astra At Maudaxi) and the two of them got on like a house on fire and we were hooked. Madison and Cassie were then joined by Sherry, (Ir Ch Soletrader Sherry Trifle at Maudaxi) in 2006 and in 2008 we bred our first homebred litter of puppies which included (Maudaxi Cosmopolitan and Int / Pol / Cz Ch Maudaxi Alfie Moon Ir Jun Ch).

Having French hunting dogs we decided to make a pilgrimage to the annual Club du Griffon Vendeen National d’Elevage which was held in Saint Galmier in 2005. We loved it so much that we decided that as we showed our dogs that it would be fun to take them to France and show them at the next Elevage; and so in 2006 we made our second trip to the show and our first trip to show the dogs; this time in the most beautiful place, Chateaux La Marque in Bordeaux. We now make an effort to go most years, with dogs to get the opinion of the French breed specialists in this their country of origin, and to stock up on some lovely French wines and champagnes.

We are hobby breeders of PBGVs and breed a litter only when we wish to introduce something new to the show ring. We spend a lot of time researching the lines from which we breed to help ensure that we breed happy, healthy puppies with the correct temperament and character.

More recently we have added to our kennel by introducing the Griffon Fauve de Bretagne. In 2011, Arnie, Algernon Prince joined us as a puppy from the first litter of Griffon Fauve born in the UK from two of the first imports.
